Dick Spierenburg (1953)

Dick Spierenburg studied architecture at Delft University of Technology and Interior & Product Design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. He started and managed three leading permanent interior design exhibitions in Amsterdam, NIC, Pakhuis Amsterdam and Post CS. In Germany he co-ordinated the initiative for a design and interior showroom for international brands, Design Post and was appointed  creative consultant to IMM Cologne.

Parallel to this activities Dick Spierenburg started KBDS with Dutch designer Karel Boonzaaijer in 2001. In 2009 Spierenburg started his own studio. He did architectural design of offices, factories and private houses, including two of his own.

Dick Spierenburg has a strong preference for simplicity, originality and quality. User value and feasibility are inextricably bound with his ideas. Powerful design language and ethical balance are just as important.
