On April 25, 2012 Queen Beatrix and the Federal President of Germany, opened the exhibition 'Dutch Design - House of Orange' in Oranienbaum Palace (near Berlin and Dessau). From Thursday, April 26, 2012, the palace, former home of the Dutch Princess "Princess Henriette Catherine of Anhalt-Dessau, Princess of Orange-Nassau, has opened its doors to the public.
Dutch design is recognized as a global brand. Icons as Bertjan Pot, Gijs Bakker, Hella Jongerius, Jurgen Bey, Marcel Wanders show characteristic masterpieces during the major summer exhibition in Oranienbaum. The handmade items are unique and all have a story. Along with objects from the Royal Archives, they often have a substantive relationship with the original functions of the palace rooms where they are exhibited. In the more than 50 rooms, a Gelderland will also be found.
