New designs by Scholten&Baijings
At the IMM Furniture Fair in Cologne, Gelderland presents new designs by Scholten & Baijings and various updates of existing designs in the collection. In the presentation in Design Post many natural colours and materials are processed and this year is inspired by the current trends Raw and NewClassic.
We are proud to to add a new design of Scholten & Baijings to our collection again.
Solid Chair | Scholten&Baijings
The Solid Chair's rounded, organic forms are striking. According to Stefan Scholten, ‘Furniture is an upholstered volume that, just like a sculpture, has an interesting aspect from all sides’. Carole Baijings continues, ‘We have designed an armchair that is a delight to sit on and that would suit any interior. The design is minimalistic, functional and, at the same time, very comfortable to sit on. The armchair becomes slimmer towards the edges. The armrests are streamlined and run seamlessly into the back making them extremely comfortable. Many of our ideas are inspired by our travels. The idea for the Solid Chair came about in Pietrasanta in Italy where we saw huge blocks of marble being quarried. In a block like this the sculpture is already there waiting to be expressed: the art is in discovering and making it visible.’ The armchair is available in a fixed and swivel version. Scholten & Baijings are well represented this year. Besides the new Solid Chair, Gelderland also shows the 6905, 7400, 7405 and the Yves (7670). The Yves Sofa has been completely renewed, including a higher arm and excellent seating comfort.
T-table | Bart Vos
T-table, a new design by Bart Vos, also fits seamlessly into our concept. This coffee table uses luxury materials such as steel t-elements from powder-coated steel that hold the glass tabletop. The coloured glass gives the table an even more lavish feel, contributing to a luxurious seating area experience.
Now also available with an oval glass top.
At IMM Cologne, Gelderland also presents a number of updates of existing furniture. The 6400, an evergreen by Henk Vos and for years a successful model, has a new corner. With this corner- element of 35 degrees you create a beautiful round sofa with open character and soft appearance. The last year's successfully introduced T-table by Bart Vos has been extended with an oval version. With all possible dimensions, selling ‘no’ is out of the question with this table series.
50 years Jan des Bouvrie
This year it is exactly 50 years since Jan de Bouvrie, with his famous Cube sofa, made his design debut with Gelderland. On the occasion of this unique anniversary, des Bouvrie has designed the Allure. Just like 50 years ago Des Bouvrie succeeded in making an accessible and contemporary sofa for a very attractive price. With the introduction of the Allure, which can be found in stores since the end of December, we are celebrating the festive year that des Bouvrie and Gelderland celebrate together.
From the hand of des Bouvrie, Gelderland also presents the Embrace introduced last year in an edition with soft back cushions.
